Her first release of the year 2007 was Ta Ra Rum Pum where she is playing a full-fledged mother for the first time on celluloid. She went for a fringe haircut this time. Mukerji is sporting a modern look in western outfits. She went through intense training to slim down and be suitable for the role. Mukerji instantly agreed to do this movie as she could identify her character with her own mother and has modelled her performance on her mother. It is also her first movie with the director Siddharth Anand, who was actually Mukerji’s school friend. Meanwhile, she has joined hands with her brother in setting up a TV production. The whole concept was only conceived seven months earlier and will now be set rolling.
