Shivani Kapoor will be playing Mastani in Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Bajirao Mastani. This will be her debut film. Salman Khan will be playing the role of Bajirao. Bansali has been searching for Mastani since two years. First he approached Aishwarya Rai, but she refused to act in his film if Salman would be her hero. Then Bansali zeroed on Kareena Kapoor. He wanted to introduce Salman and Kareena as a pair in this film. But Kareena went ahead and signed Kyun Ki. Then Priyanka Chopra was listed, but nothing materialized. Now Shivani has been selected for this project.
Visibly happy about this film, Shivani said that she wants to do more films. People just know her as model Shivani Kapoor, but she wants to be known as Shivani the talented actress. At present her priority is to concentrate on Bajirao Mastani, she added.
